ASU Ratio Christi End of School Year Recap!

May 1, 2017

We can’t believe it went by so fast, but this is the last week of the school year at ASU!

Wow, this year was packed from start to finish! First, I must say what an incredible group of students we have gotten to know and love over the last two semesters. These guys have faithfully come out on Tuesday mornings for weekly Bible study, Tuesday evenings for the “Ratio” meetings as they call it, and Wednesday afternoons for campus outreach!! Not to mention they have joined us here at our home multiple times for some good food, fellowship, and bonfires. Disciples and loving friendships have been made, we’ve shared laughs and tears together, been there for each other as brothers and sisters through family deaths, we’ve seen souls saved, we’ve stayed up way too late talking, eaten too many marshmallows, and kept each other accountable as we walk in faith with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Truly, words can’t describe how thankful we are and how honored we feel that God brought us here to the Boone area to serve these students, and serve WITH them, too. And really, they have served us right back.

My kids are perfect proof of that; Wesley and James have gotten to know and love these friends too, and I really believe it’s more than friendships that have been built- it’s more like family around here! When we have the students over, usually 20-30 at a time, one or both boys are usually in the arms of their pseudo “aunts” and “uncles” and getting tickle attacked and loved on.

The way these students share their faith and God’s love on campus and with their roommates/neighbors/fellow students is inspiring. It’s been incredible to see growth and questions answered and the practicing of evangelism and apologetic tactics that Greg, with God’s help, has taught. I love it when they bring a new friend or acquaintance to the meetings (or our house!!) to share the love. It fires us up, I tell ya!!!

Friday night we had our last “Food, Fire, & Fellowship” of the semester and it was hard to say goodbye as many will be heading home for the summer after exams this week. Yet bittersweet, because the next time
I see many of them, we will have our new family addition!!!

I realize I haven’t mentioned it here on the blog yet (I guess because I assume most everyone reading this already knows it!) but we will be welcoming our third child, Grace Lynn Walker, in mid August!! We are SO excited and just can’t wait for her to join in on the good times around here. 🙂 What a blessing; our hearts are so full right now!

Please be in prayer with us as we: support raise to continue on with this wonderful ministry; continue to teach classical Christian apologetics on a very liberal campus and surrounding area; pray for many of our students who will be home for the summer (and the break/rest that brings, but also the challenges of being back home it presents); and lastly as we will be juggling a newborn in the mix of all this right at the start of the fall semester!

If you don’t already get our newsletter emails and would like more detailed information about what all we do here, let us know in the comments below or contact us by following the link that takes you to Greg’s Ratio Christi bio.

As I said before, we consider this a huge honor to be “campus missionaries” here at App and praise the Lord for this opportunity!

Love to you all and thanks for reading,
